... :-)
Then there is internet access again, and a chance to update the daily reports to the website And to say THANK YOU for the emails, facebook messages etc. which were waiting - I'm amazed by the Support: When you run 'out on the roads' of foreign continents for this long, then you step by step begin to forget that anyone else than yourself, the hardworking support-driver and the sponsors knows what is going on ! Very natural, I guess, as we are still evolutionary absolutely un-adjusted to the new 'information age' w. beeing online and following things globally on a daily and often even minute-by-minute scale. By our nature and instinct - If we dont see anyone - we dont expect anyone to see us or know about our situation.
... Thus, such a pleasant surprise when the report from the 13. September had resulted in a small virtual-avalanche of encouragement !! Thanks to everyone :-)))
Ofcourse this also effects the run and motivation itself. And after days feeling like running was more or less 'swimming along the tarmac' (and by that meaning a slow, nearly impossible, process ;-) then its possible to do stages like todays 50km at a fairly good pace. Needless to say, perhaps, its no distance which can impress ultrarunners - ultrarunning first begins at this distance when talking one-day events - but at this point in the world run's is a knock-out distance if run on one of the deep fatigue days and next to impossible on the low motivation days. So, this one is for all the Encouragements !!
NB: I'll upload the reports and pictures from the missing days as fast as possible, but it may take a little while to get everything online. We'r still not in the overtaking lane' of the information age here in South America - but, on the other hand that leaves more time to experiense its fantastic Nature & Culture !! :-)
