A lot of downhill-running on this stage - definately not to complain about :-))
After the run we had our minds set on an interesting tent-spot in some minor mountainhills a bit off the highway. Getting there... was a different matter alltogether: the current supportcar (a longtime rental) has low-profile tarmactires as opposed to the 4wd weichles I usually choose as supportcars on the rougher continents, so even the short drive through the soft sand wast with the 'heart in the throat'. Getting stuck here could easily take quite a while to get out of again.
Luckily it went allright, not least due to Pali's meticulous driving, easing the car through some deep wheeltracks, landing us nicely at the remains of an ancient settlement just at the foothills of the mountains. There should be a few photos of the sight along w. the report :-)
NB: The internet connections here in Southern Peru is scarce and far between so there has been much longer delays on the reports than I had hoped. The current report is uploaded 4. August but I expect to have hight-speed internet in two days from now and then the remaining week of reports, gps-data and pictures will be uploaded !!
