Uphill again ;-)
In more than one sence it was uphill again today; not only the climb during approximately 16km of gentle uphill running up from one of the many desert-valleys - but also since the car again-again-again made problems. Late last night it refused to start and it took a while today to get it fixed. When it finally was working again we decided to atleast get a few kms out of the day, though it doesnt feel safe to run at night due to the Southamerican traffic culture (I have enjoyed hugely running for example through the Australian desert during a series of star-bright night the 1500km across the Nullabor desert in 2005 - but I do respect if the traffic is too dangerous, one would perfer to arrive at the finish line in one piece I guess ;-)
With on the stage was Jamie who crewed the first 3 months from the tip of Southamerica to Santiago, where he resides now. He had brought a repaired gps-unit to replace the one which hasnt been functioning the last week. Now the problem remains: the repaired unit does track the running - but it wont upload it ! The joy of technological challenges..
