Internet delay !
On our way to the startpoint we found a small internet-cafe on the hwy.5 through the desert. We thought it best to use the chance to catch up with friends and for my part to update the worldrun website and online logbook.
Well; it turned out to be severeal hours in the small internet-cafe-restaurant-grocerystore-hostel enterprize by the roadside ! I got my monthly meal of vegetables/salad (yes, I know one is supposed to eat vegetables every day, but so far it has worked fine to run 1,5 times around our world on a strict diet of chocolate, bisquits and canned food ! So much for the "sports health profets" ;-) The serious part I guess is: Our body has through out evolution become excellent at adapting to eating just about anything with nutrition in it; and I think and have experiensed that the main thing is wether we Move/exercise each day. If we do so, the body will thrive and adapt to what we eat. IF we dont, there is no healt-food etc. which will be able to compensate for the diseases the body slowly picks up by not beeing used !).
Ok, I digress :-) I got my monthly meal of salad and vegetables, and Alex got himself a healthy breakfast. Now ofcourse the time had passed midday and it was a matter of getting out in the quite hot sun.
Well, that is the punishment for eating healthy, I guess ! ;-)
NB: The gps hasnt worked properly the last few days ! I am trying to figure out what the problem is. So far it only randomly - if at all - gps-stamps the pictures and the endomondo system doesnt start up at all. Jamie will fly in from Santiago in about 5 days with a new unit since this part of the documentation is crucial and I dont think I can fix the electronics out here in the desert.
