Restday in Marsabit.
After nearly 100km of the Kaisut volcanic desert done and only 33km left to run it was time for a 1day rest: the unusual style of running on the volcanic rocks has made the tendons feel like violinstrings just ready to burst so I decided it was best to drive up to Marsabit and take a 'timeout', trying once more to get the live-gps coverage system to work, before heading out there again.
Also, I have tosay, the option to have a shower and a meal different from rice & bisquits was appealing. The desert does take its mental strain, not least as its the 6. desert I run through in wr2 (Syrian desert, Jordan desert, Sinai desert, Sahara, Nubian desert and now the Kaisut desert at equator).
Comparatively world run 1 was an easy task w. one (Nullabor, Australia) desert ;-)
