Another of those hot days !
Luckily I have a very experiensed supply-driver on the streatch untill the border, mr. Elkheir who has supported several bicycle tours through Sudan and knows most corners of this huge contry.
At conditions as the present he waits every 5km with the possibility for me to sit in theaircon. car and get the bodytemp. under control while drinking cold water to 'fuel up' for the next streatch of baking-oven-running. (I think the regulars of the "Badwater Ultra" extremerace knows the procedure - though they have even warmer temp. to deal with - but a little bit shorter time to the finish.. :-)
The trick, to both, I think is to be prepared also w. local advice AND to try to "live with the heat" instead of feeling bothered by it !
But, Ihave to admit that I have yet only very few times maneaged to enjoy the nice relaxed heat-running above 40c...
The tent was put at the first rock outcroppings that eventually will turn into the Ethiopian Highlands; w. a beatifull view of the broad yellow-red savannah !
The best point of the day came from Khartoum: A Visitor to my little savannah camp :-)
