Fever run; in two steps..
After last nights excercise of the stomack muscles (throwing up w. amazing regularity untill 5am.) the daily run seemed to be a bit of a challenge; temperatures rising quick into the high 30ties, still a light fever & dizzyness thus dehydration was a definate risk. 18hours ago since I could hold food, water .. or the attempted stomack medicin down ;-)
My team, however, came up w. a good little plan: 3km increments. Short stops for pure cold water inside - and outside, poured over head and chest to keep the heat in check.
After 30km the temperature was reaching towards 40c, and we choose to set camp in the shade of a few palmtrees.
2h. of rest (sweating in the tent, waiting the fever out) and I felt up to another stint on the road.
Wise call by my team.. !
We got 40km done and I think it shows one of the values of having a team; had I been alone w. the stroller and tent this could easily have turned into a critical situation.
Now I instead got an interesting challenge that got solved !
Thanks Team :-))
(ps: to top up the effort, Jamie and Dee coocked me fresh vegetable soup w. potatoes over the campfire - wich definately hit the spot' as the appetite slowly emerged again from the outposts of vomiting)
