Start 08:59am. At 3km past Kerma village. 18c, clear and l. wind. Finish 16:08pm. At Lord Hotel in centre of Dongola. 35c and same.

First stretch cleared ! :-)
- by running into Dongola, wich w. its ca. 20 000inhab. gives a somewhat chaotic and busy ambience after small desert villages, we have covered the main desert and sandroads of the Sudan part of the run. After Dongola it should, hopefully, be tarmac all the way to the Ethiopian border; 1000km down the road' and expected arr. 18. March.

We have all agreed that tomorrow will be a restday for the team. We are all covered partly in sand and dust after the desert and there is hardly a clean spot on the clothes or car.. A shower and some washing will do Good !! :-)

Nb: There apparently was power-out in Dongola today and I had no signal on the phone and live gps allmost all stage. Documentation done by photo and logbook.
