Sandstorm.. !
- A quiet run on the desert highway besides the sudden desert storm: after ca. 20km the wind changed from East to West and within a few minutes it grew to nearly storm strength. I had an offer to stay at a small village at a garage untill the storm had gone past - but was too stubbon not to keep running; I had set my mind on 60km so no stops. Stupid ! ;-)
10min. later yellow-grey dustclouds began to rise like towers in the horizon. Moving fast across the flat plains like mobile yellow walls !
To my luck I got past their point by ca. 1/2km and around a cliff-formation before they blew past the road. A fascinating scenery (see live-pic. from the day). But ofcourse also stupid that I didnt take shelter when adviced by the desert people at the village.. Next time I hope to be wiser :-)
Todays running advice:
Remember to include the nature experiense and the change of seasons in your running - get out even when it rains, snows, is cold or warm. Once out in the weather, it makes your running experience richer :-)
(but try to use care; contrary to a certain wr-runner.. ;-)
