Start 07:53am, at Hotel O. Khayam in Latakia. 7c, clear and l. wind. Finish 12:09pm, at first Banias exit on Arab route 51to Damaskus, in Banias. 18c and same.

This the 2. day of running across the Arab Republic of Syria, from North to South - and its hard for me to express the extend of friendship I have experiensed allready !!

To give an idea:
In world run 1 (2004 - 2005/ 26232km) and the present world run 2allmost every single day has been a joy :-)
- This day is among the 2 or 3 best days of all those days, months and years meeting and sharing friendship w. fellow sportspeople, experiensing nature and culture.

...Start of the day by a wakeup visit to make sure Im getting ready without needing to rush. Anything to help w. ? Baggage to carry ?? Asks the leader of the Syrian Sports Federation :-) The stroller goes in front - on a truck ! Food & water: dont worry, a policemotorcycle carries it beside me from start to finish !!
- The scenery for todays run is palms, orange & olive plantations and the Mediteranean Sea..
Alone on the road ?
- Company by a group of Syrian championship athletes the last 20km: two 10-12y girls (pb. 18-19min. on 5km !!!), two 400m hurdle champions :-) , the Arab 1500m champion etc. etc. Most important, we share the smiles and joy of the run every step !

Accomodation: bungalowat beachside. Evening spent w. new friends !!

Budget: "we want your heart to be joyfull, no money" !!!
