Last evening in Turkey !
After yesterdays up-hill running it was easy downhill wich had its impact on the pace :-)
Antakya was reached allmost one hour earlier than expected. And good and well, as it offers a rich history to think about and to get a glimse of:
Antakya, former known as Antioch, has played a central role as one of the main battlegrounds in the Christian crusades around 900y ago wich saw it as one of its key goals during a 170y period of quests for its conquer. The city by that time was more than 3 times its present size of 165 000p. Growing under different rule since its founding ca year 300b.c.
(you can find a small vid. uploaded in the 'Live section')
Today the times of crusades is hopefully gone, despite modern-day quests for oil, money or power. And surely democracy needs understanding & time; not force :-)
- As I run into Antioch a car pulls up: "WELLCOME to Turkey !! Can I help you w. anything ? Tea ??"
.. I hope perhaps our time is the time of crusades of Friendship :-))
Todays tip:
Mental training -
Is one of the most imp. part of ultra training. An example, when facing huge challenges it helps before to daily confront yourself w. the obstacles you expect to meet. Go through your reactions & find solutions - then and not when there !
You'll thus be focused, prepared & motivated.
