Goodbye dear Sarah !!

Today is the 1.of December. Sarah and I have run exactly 5months since the start a sunny day above the Polar Circle at Nordkapp; Norway. More than 7000km and an eternity of experienses ago :-)
2,5km into todays stage my co-runner and cherished friend stopped.Lay down in the morning sun and couldnt run any further. To the sound of the nearby waves and a solitary bird in the lemon plantation we talked the run over; our experienses together, people we have met (you allways make an impression & inspire us :-), nature run, hardship & joy !

2 hours lasted the most beautifull and painfull goodbye in my life so far. We have parted for shorter periods before but we both knew that this was her last moment in the run..

She had given All. Most runners get injured. Sarah is not a runner who gets injured. Her energy had been spend w. a generosity I have not seen by any other runner - often even going for a jogg after the stages !! Now nothing was left. The body acking, the legs, stomack etc. in pain. After 45min. she could walk to a bus stop and after a few Long moments we parted.

To my knowledge She is the first woman to have run the length of Scandinavia. And in all practicality the first woman to have run across europe, from the Arctic Ocean to the Mediteranean Sea.
