The second day with running company by Reino from Finland (see re-introduction in yesterdays report :-). With him Reino also brought the much missed technical equiptment and after some downloading of various applications for the gps-phone after yesterdays stage both gps-tracking and gps-coded pictures are now up and functioning again. Much to my relief as I definately take pride in that the entire run each time (world run 1 and 2) is documented and tracked properly.
Again today we got 30km's on the daily count on a hilly and spectacular stage - see pictures. Not much distance perhaps, compared with the earlier years of the run, but as the very deep fatigue settles this actually is better than in many weeks now. Certaily much of the new energy is due to the good company of my old friend from Finland :-)) Kiitos, Reino !
- If you wonder what Alex, my support-driver, is up to on the photo's from todays stage then he is engaged in his new hobby of rope binding (!); challenging himself with some particularly difficult knots while celbrating the american nationalday, 4.th. July. A very dedicated and patient part of world run two who definately has his part of why its possible to continue the run: driving up to meet me North of Boston when the 25kg-backpack-run didnt turn out to be so good an idea !
NB: Once again a Big THANKS for the birthday wishes two days ago. Running in remote areas those messages from many parts of the world makes a huge positive impact on an elseway quite tired runner ! I miss you much :-)
