Back on track :-)
Its been nearly a week of more or less unexplained tiredness in the legs (more or less unexplained, since ofcourse... 3½ years of running could give a slight hint ;-). But today it finally seemed like there was some extra energy and that the body had begun to recover properly from one day to the next again ! Very nice and a relief since I was beginning to wonder if I had hit a "barrier" as for example at around 19 000 - 20 000km's in each of these two world runs - at that point it feel almost similar to the "wall" one sometimes experienses on a classical marathon during the last few miles: energy, focus, mental surplus is suddenly gone and only the will to continue remains. Its been a hard obstacle each time during these two world run's and I have noted that often projects like this stop at that point between 17-19 000km's, so somehow there must be a physical barrier of sorts reguarding how much the body can recover from on a daily basis while negotiating different terrain, weather, cultures, food and diseases. Anyhow; I was beginning to suspect yet aonther barrier, here at around 33 000km was in store. But, luckily it seems that things are picking up again :-) !
I'll try to push the distance back to around 40km tomorrow and see what happens.
