Rio Atuel

Another quite hard stage to run despite that the distance isnt very impressive. Same as yesterday the legs tired and a little bit of fever following the stage.

More positively we've now entered the Pampa de la Varita region withstunning views towards the national park Reserva Provincial El Payen - w. the highest concentration of volcanic peaks in the world.

They are not extremely high, most a few hundred meters though one stands out at
3680m. alt. But the number of them means that it looks as if the horizon is dotted w. volcanic cones. Impressive. And makes one forget the strange tiredness lately :-)

At the end of the day we sat our tents at the main river of the region, Rio Atuel: listening to fish jump in the water as the sun went down. Its slow flow begins up in the high part of the Andes Mountains - which I should hopefully reach and pass across by running in a few weeks from now !
