The Road Ahead
- Today the road ahead was closed !
But atleast 35km of it was still runnable.. :-) The heavy rain yesterday had flooded parts of the flat Pampas terrain and since I now begin to head inland - w. more hilly terrain and eventually the Andes Mountains - then the water obviously gathered at the low-points; and after a few roadside floodings it finally covered the entire road (see todays pictures !).
Before I got that far I was suddenly stopped by a policecar, which are very rare on the rural roads of Argentina, and four friendly policemen tried to explain ab. the flooding ahead. However, my spanish (next to none) meant that I had to run up to find out for myself ;-)
Hopefully the water will have sunken & the road be runnable tomorrow !
