Gendarmaria !
Another day of v. dangerous traffic, where the "highlights" were 3 double-overtakings from behind giving me some refreshing bursts of adrenalin.. (I usually run against traffic, here at left side off the tarmac itself, in order to stay safe - but here the danger often comes mainly from cars on the other side of the road deciding to use all road.. ;-). And an interrsting little incidenton way to the start, where the law-enforcement apparently w. the children on the backseat - it Is weekend ;-) - overtook us at a blind-bend w. "no overtaking" sign.. Out of couriosity we stayed behind them and later saw them, and us, beeing overtaken by a large fuel truck at double-lines on the same 1lane road. It surely must mean that in Argentina "no overtaking" & double lines means: Please overtake, preferably at 130km/h ! ;-)
- Or perhaps another part of the brain is used when driving here ? Elseway the Argentinians are friendly and a pleasant & helplfull people to meet, but in traffic they appear to whish you (and themself!) dead; a little bit uncomfortable and by far the most risky driving-culture I have encountered on 5 continents/32contrys thatI have run through so far.
But allways there are positives too !!
Near the finish a gendameri/miliitary truck stopped & excused ! ?!! :-)
