A desert night !
One of the Joy's of doing this kind extreme version of ultrarunning are running through the deserts:
The quietness, the remoteness, the harch but beautifull nature. The nights !
An enviroment that asks you to survive; inquiring into your skills, creativity and adaptation. Not least through sandstorms (the "Habub" !), sunbeams wich at times burn the skin like hot razorblades, freezing nights, atleast sometimes :-) Thirst and hunger wich needs to be treated as security priorities and not like "meals" and "drinks"; atleast not untill the desert life becomes natural as a silent thourghtfull everyday'.
Then it rewards you w. a scenery wich is ever-changing in its minimalist way (a desert scenery changes every few hundred meters, despite what you'd expect !).
And experienses that challenges your fantasy and ideas of time, space and endurence. Of the animals, ourselves as human beeings and experienses during the moonlit empty desert night.
The stage itself went well albeit I am beginning to feel the effects of pushing the stroller again even if its just a few days untill I reach Khartoum and meet up w. my next supplydriver.
