Car breakdown !
At morning I ran ahead into the desert to give my two teammates a quiet morning.. Unfortunately our retired yellow Peugeot cab didnt make it through the night. It refused to start. 3 hours later I was sitting at roadside in the desert; no water.
Wondering whats happened and looking invain for a shadow to get shade from the heat.
By the time they had got a car-ride out to me from Wadi Halfa, I had pretty much decided that this was as much chances I would take, along w. beeing physically worn out. Time to get home - we had tried !
- Four hours later and my main contact in Wadi Halfa, mr. Magdisbohara (who had bourght the first car w. me), found a new toyota Landcruiser 4wd, paid a sudanese mechanic, Mohammad, to go with us and had us ready to head out again. Now 4 in the team.
A true gentleman, Magdi, who adds to the chain of people who make this run possible; Phil (Australia), Erik (Norway), many many Finland runners, the danish support !, Vlastimil and Petr in Cz., Haitham and the danish embassy in Syria, Dorte in Cairo, my sponsors
.. and not least Sarah who keeps encouraging my faith in this run - even at times when its worn a thin :-)
