Run allmost over ?
Today brought the worst day of running in my 25y as a runner.
I am sorry not to write a more positive account - I try to find the good qualities of the places I run; and they are allmost allways there to be discovered anywhere in the world :-)
Today I was held back twice by policecontrols. When seeking a ground to pitch my tent I was approached by two young soldiers.
Running towards me at a deserted place, unsecuring their automatic rifles as they got near. At gunpoint taking the mobilephone and while one took the passport the other started to use the phone to make calls.
One of them turned out to be ok after the initial gestures was over. The other, in command of the situation, took the water and cocacola I had (supplies are precious as there are up to 100km between outhere, but had just passed one 2k back) and drank it while I could enjoy watching..
After 2h they sent me off - I demanded the phone back & their names, the first I got the second not - I headed for the service station again. The police this time was helpfull :-) and did all they could to find them!
But after hassles & humiliation, heat, lack of food & water I am at 95perc. of what I can handle.
Each step from here is due to the fantastic entusiasm in Finland. THAT I DONT REPAY BY GIVING UP !
