Up-hill !
When I woke up this morning it was to a beautifull sight as the sun was just sending its first beams across the desert.. It had been a great overnighting in the tent under the clear, bright sealing of stars. Yes; sometimes tenting can beat the best five star hotels I've stayed at by a big margin :-)
.. Soon it was time for the realities of the run, though. I knew that I had between 60 & 70km toAmman, the capital of Syria, where new friends and contacts were waiting. And now I was back to the routine of the run: pushing 35kg in front while keeping it a run and not a walk.
To make it a challenge some surprisingly steep hills appeared making me painfully aware of the difference between running "free" and pushing the stroller.
It was all worth the effort, though: near the finish I was met by Amar (who has completed the Marathon des Sables desert race in Sahara) and Jens from the danish embassy. Both great company and both displaying the Arab hospitality - wich obviously also becomes part of the danish residents lifestyle :-) Very enjoyable to feel wellcome and at home - 8000km away from my old home !
Todays running advice:
Shoes: often it canbe a part of injury prevention to freqvently change between different models & even brands to benefit from the different forces of each manufacturer.
