Start 9:12am, at "Baia de Fier 9km" on rd.665, at Novaci.
10c, clear and l. wind.
Finish 12:17pm. At "Rimnicu Vilcea 57km" on km-marker 139 on rd.67. 22c, half clear and same.

As you can see, a short stage. The effect of the hard mountain stages, especially the 3. is comingin full effect now!! The calfs stiff, the ancles and achilles v. sore from the twisting and turning at the mud and snow roads and possibly a pulled fiber in the right leg upper front, but not a major problem. Its much more the accumulation of small things and a massive drop in motivation that give me a strong hint that its wise to back off' for a few days. (many small inj. along w. lacking motivation is often a sign of "overtraining" as the body struggles to recover). With 5000km near and no restdays its not time to go for a few strong days on expense of the overall goal :-)

I was fortunate to have helpreg. the motivation by messages from good friends: Petr, Maren, May-Britt - a txt from a school class on Mors, denmark, who apparently are following the run :-) - the news that stagerunner from Finland, Lasse, has just completed his first ultra (cool he made it despite heartdecease !!). And not least the support and sparring w. Phil Essam :-))

In the afternoon, as I put up my tent on a hill w. a view, a cowheard comes up the hill. We talk by handsigns and my extremely limited rumanian. About his 3 man collective w. 7 cows. He gives a smiling encouragement to the run.
