Pensiuneaela.ro :-)
Another peacefull stage on the small backroads. A sudden shift in the people along the course of the run: Romas !
- a different lifestyle; half gypsies, very talkative, a few horses and donkeys in the front yards, colourfull dresses and pleanty of gestures as I pass along. Not all of them polite as else is the case when running in Rumania. A contry wich I have become to love to run in !
- The mix of friendliness and interest, but never amassing. The extremely varied nature, pure, but never crowded by tourists at all. The standard; Im allmost shocked compared w. what I expected :-)
An example is my accomodation for the night: Pension Ela. A mable villa w. mountain view and the main river flowing just behind the backyard. A room where you nearly could host a tennismatch. Balcony w. a view. Price: 22euro. Service: top !
Strangely, among horsedrawn carriges, wodden houses and calm rural life - the hotels I encounter are fine standard and so the roads. Allmost second to none I have experiensed in East Europe. Exactly contrary to what I expected; but that is one of the qualities of the run: you get to see all aspects of the contries and preconceptions have little chances to remain :-)
- If you want to experience mountains that can match the Alps, but be "the only tourist"; then Romania is it!
