Farewell Tjekkia and Slovakia !

2km before the finish of todays stage we ran over the river Donau and thus crossed the border into Hungary. Making it our contry number 9 that we are about to run across :-)

We send many gratefull thourghts to Tjekkia andSlovakia for fantastic scenery, stunning nature, some beautifull mountain running, interesting and welcoming culture; and not least Great help and friendship from fellow runners :-)
Vlastimil picked our spirits up after hard stages in heavy polish traffic and made sure we were set for the next many km. Petr fixed my broken glasses and made Sarah feel at home in the Sri Chinmoy community. And many more friends were made. I wonder if you know how much you mean for a run like this ! Your help inspire further to keep running on :-)

The last 2days in Slovakia we began to getthat distinct 'Southern European' ambience: the quiet villages at midday, old women in black dresses and veil on their way to church (sometimes on bicycles ;-).. Charming !
But Tjekkia is one of the contries I have ever enjoyed the most to run in ! Probably the combination of beautifull and varied nature, good quiet roads, a friendly and wellcoming culture along w. all the historic and cultural sights. To ultrarunners its a treat you must try :-)
