2012-07-14:Distance today: 37.0 km (Accumulated: 36299.0 km)
Elapsed time: 03:46:39
Country: Canada
Start 10:10am., 24c, clear & no wind, at blue-white marker "Hydro TL233" on Road 480 to Burgos. Finish 14:36pm., 26c and same, at yellow trail-sign "25" on Red Indian Trail, South end of the Lake.
- We have now finally reached to where the trail along Red Indian Lake begins. At first the road appeared to be in much better condition than what we had heard from locals; but that was soon to change. Still it was very enjoyable and the nature experience when running 'off the beaten track' is always a unique part of the world runs and one of many aspects that I cherish much and keeps the motivation on the more difficult parts. Obviously this streatch could be labeled "difficult" too but the reward in scenery and experience by far outweights and overshadows the discomforts !
After the hilly run that offered views over the next valleys ahead and with the passage of several small rivers we finally found an ideal spot for tenting also tonight. We set the tents at the North end of Duck Pond Lake - about 40km South of Red Indian Lake and could take in the scenery as the sun slowly set over the quiet waters - and the mosquitoes sent us back to our tents ;-)
It will be interesting what the nature has in store for us tomorrow !
NB: I will begin uploading this report along with its pictures and the following days reports once we are back in 'civilization' again.
