Goto: 2012-07-11 2012-07-13 Canada
2012-07-12:Distance today: 21.0 km (Accumulated: 36232.0 km)
Elapsed time: 02:01:19
Country: Canada
Start 11:10am., 26c, clear & light wind, at traffic sign "exit 2" to Stephenville on hwy.1. Finish 13:28pm., 29c, half cloudy and same, at blue-white marker at roadside "Hydro TL250" on Road 480 to Burgos.
We have now headed off' the only main road on New Foundland, the Trans Canadian Highway One, and for a little while I will run on the Regional road 480 untill we tomorrow turn left and begin the 3-5 day run along the gravel/stone trail following Red Indian Lake. It should then, hopefully, re-emerge and join the Trans Canadian 1' about 300km up the road, thus saving me approximately 93km compared to if I ran along the main road. It remains to be seen wether the rough conditions and possible trail-finiding time will still make it worth while - but as far as adventure and expedition goes.... Then I am Sure it is well worth it :-)
NB: I will upload this and the following days reports once we are back in 'civilization' again.
