Another day of Great company !
Today I had running company from the start; Mylene and after only 2 miles Danny and Matt joined. Even a 70years old woman that I didnt catch the name of ran for about ½ a mile - Inspiring :-) !
Also the legs were a bit more fresh and powerfull than yesterday where I barely dragged myself through 30 slow kilomtres. Todays 40km went much easier and there was even room for a little sprint' the last 4 miles as Matt and Danny rejoined and put the pace a notch' up..
After the finish at Cocoa Beach Park right at the foot of one of the large bridges connecting Cape Canaveral (where the space-shuttle launches used to be) to the mainland, I met Hernandes who owns the local running shop: www.daddyultraruns.com - He insisted in supplying me with some extra running items and even took care of covering our small team's accomodation at a luxury Bed & Breakfast in the small village. A very unexpected bouns after a good day of running and sharing the joy of long distance running !
I have to say... Im getting very spoiled running in Florida; the company, the support, the new sponsorships turning up. And its not far from that after the at times quite hard weeks or months during the years running through Africa and South America that I now ask myself: "Am I dreaming" ??
:-)
