Visa progress "Getting up from the ditch ?"

Finally today, after I, my family and the main financial sponsor, Ecco, has tried to 'knock' in every way imaginable on the door of the American embassy here in Bogota - I am granted a meeting w. officials inside the embassy. Up untill this point I was not even allowed inside the walls of the embassy.
Wether this means that there is opening a 'gateway' to continue the run, I dont know yet. We'll soon find out !

Its nearly unbearable if 3 years of running, pushing through' all kinds of expected and unexpected troubles; getting and shaking off' a large selection of tropical diseases in Africa, solving an seemingly endless row of trobles w. my supportcars (ended up buying two cars, later when they had to be left behind; renting 3 other cars further up the route as one by one got substituted by the next... with its unique mechanical 'surprises' ;-).
But to give this up, that is should have been for nothing. Not because of logistics going wrong. Not because the legs or healt had reached its limit. Or due to bad budgetting (its a huge balance with 3 years of running and vast expenses - but also a strong backing from my financial sponsors :-). Not because of failing to adapt, understand or communicate with w. the various cultures I ran through (except Ethiopia where I in many cases never really got past the stone-throwing and into a dialogue).
No, to see the run slipping away' due to diplomatic rules and visa-restrictions. That is nearly too hard to accept.
