Stationary day in Iquque getting the car repaired.

- Its not like the 2.part of world run two is a particularly "lucky" event !

I have lost count of how many times electronical equiptment have malfunctioned or the supportcar broken down. But its all part of the experiense ! And, I have to remember how extremely, even unlikely-, Lucky I was during almost the entire world run one; 26 232km around the world where almost everything could have gone wrong (running straight across Siberia, or through the chaotic japanese traffic, the Australian desert at midsummer or the huge Canadian prairie pushing a stroller... All things which almost ´begs to go wrong´) - but nearly everything worked out better than I could have hoped.

So, I guess that statistics demand that I get a serving' of things-gone-wrong. And what a serving here in world run two !! ;-)

... Today we had planned in order to avoid the ususal breakdowns of the supportcar, to have a preventive mechaincal check-up by a workshop which we have got excellent service from when a few days ago having the gearbox repaired. The work should be done by midday and then I could head out for the daily stage.

No so. Firstly the repair dragged out. Then new parts were needed across town. Then an electrician needed to be called in to fix wires. Then the car was ready. By 5pm.

Then we drowe 500meters. Whereupon the tire punctued dramaticly.

End of day :-(

The unexpected ´joys´ of technical troubles !

Tomorrow we try again, and keep trying untill I make forward distance - even if I get old and greyhaired before that date is reached :-)
