Mystical Mist ?
Today our tents were covered in rain as we woke up early in the morning. It took quite a while to dry them up a little bit before packing them in the supportcar and make ready for me to start the run. Astonishing to experiense this must humidity/mist in the else very barren - but beautifull - Atacama Desert.
The past week I have enjoyed some fantastic tent-camp settings far from any sounds or lights from cities or villages. And with the clear band of the Milky Way above as enough light by night :-)
But despite this, and despite that over the years and throughout the world run's the deserts of the world has become some of my favorite places to run (!) then Im at present at a phase of the run where I Miss Scandinavia and denmark a lot. Thought of familiar places, nature, the changing seasons, the wind from the Ocean, the sound of autumn wind in the leaves of the light forrest of the North'.. and memories of good friends !
Its a natural phase of the run, though, and comes each time after a little short of half a year of running across the continents as the 'novelty' of the daily new horizon isnt as novel anymore and the small comforts of one's own home contry stands as clear as the stars on the night sky. But I also know that it is - a phase, and it will pass after a week or two of "missing everyting". Part of venturing longtime into the world is coming to Appreciate the things and people at home :-)
