Tenting ?
After an enjoyable but quite intense stage the main problem besides the usual challenges of keeping the supportcar functioning (overheating etc.) turned out to be the task of finding a place to put the tents: my new supportdriver Alex and I used more than an hour circling around at the small villages. Eventually the car began to smoke heavily and we had to stop - the local police station right where we had broken down adviced us to camp at what turned out to be the village garbage dump ;-) .. !!
But there was also very positive sides to the run today: just as I had ran approximately 1km on a narrow railroadtrack to avoid a "runners not allowed" highway tunnel through a small mountain (and for good reason - it would have been extremely risky to run in there) then I met a young blonde girl on her touring bike - on her way from the tip of South America to Alaska ! Her name is Swinde and you can follow her courageous biketour on swinde.de. Some beautifully pictures to be found there as well as interesting observations if you can read german (she is from Willich in Germany).
As always Thrilling to meet fellow 'human-powered travellers' :-) And I surely could appreciate this kind of thrill after just having run through a different form of thrill, hoping that there wouldnt come a train around the corners of the tracks as there wasnt much room between the mountain rock wall and the rails themselves. It all went fine though !
