An englishman and some Argentinian drivers..
-Today a short run but at the same time probably the first difficult stage so far: light dehydration, shinsplints r. leg; nausea/stomack trouble.
As I rest in the shade of the car, streatched out on my groundcover, re-hydrating & eating a can of vegetables; I leave the word to Jamie, my patient english supportdriver:
Today began as it so often does, with the wind. Flapping tent doors carried me out of slumber, and a new lamina of fine dust across the yet to be brushed teeth left its imprintupon the day. For jesper it meant an increased challenge as its direction was of course northernly; the prefect headwind. From the confines of the drivers seat, little beckoned me away, which i admit is a rarety, but i'm getting low on toothpaste.
Argentine drivers pass us at great speeds, and with even greater enthusiasm, though these amiable actions often leave their eyes on the runner and not the road. This is when i, by reflex alone pull the oddest of facial expressions until the danger has passed in my rear-view mirror. I can then wait peacefully up until its dubious next reoccurance.
Today i learnt two new words: firstly, viento (spanish for "wind"), and another, but in danish...
Ps: Yes; I have a word for the friendly-but-dangerous drivers ;-)
