Start 09:00am. at blue city sign "Quelimane" at the N. end of Quelimane village, on EN247 to Mocimboa da Praia. 24c, overc. and l. wind. Finish 10:58am. At city monument "Chama da Unidade" at roundabout at S. end of Mocimboa da Praia on the main road to Nampulo. 33c, humid, a few clouds and same.

Moc. da Praia is the first real city on my route in Mozambique. If you choose to call it a city:
a long tarmac mainstreet w. sandtracks streatching out from it. All 'shops' (wooden sheds that deals in everything !) facing towards the mainstreet. 3 suspect hotels from the mid. 70'ties (?). Behind it the Indian Ocean and a small harbour of wooden fishingboats w. triangular brown sails. A relaxed 'latinamerican' lifestyle in a place wich seems cut out of a mexican western' ;-)
