When a Viking calls.. !
When a Viking calls twice - you come :-)
Fellow ultrarunner, raceorganizor & friend K. G. from Sweden asked me afew months ago if I'd come for a brief 'vacation' to take part in a 6day
competetion he is hosting w. a strong international field.
My reaction was that I dont take vacations while Im doing world runs.
But he convinced me that he could provide me w. airtickets direct to the
race so Im not going home tonearby denmark (wich I MISS) but isnt
visiting before Im finished; else it would begin to look more like a holiday.. ;-)
And, beeing Scandinavian and having the Viking personality - he'd asked
2wice.. I couldnt make him ask 3 times ;-)
So, Im taking part in the race in Gothenburg 30/8 to 5/9; by flying from
Tanzania late the 26/8 and returning to the point I left via a flight to
Dar Es Salaam the 7/9. Expecting to be running by 10/9 (babyjogger w. 40kg
equiptment, the supply-car leaves to be sold the 24/8 !).
5days running later shold be Mozambique, with remote forrests, landmines
and friendly people :-)
Ps: The run went fine today; a bit tired legs as usual here in Africa but not too bad.
