Addis Abeba. 2 day in the capital of Ethiopia waiting to proceed w. the run.


Fever in Addis Abeba

Having fever & a bit of shaking/numb hands while looking out the window at the white clouds and waiting to get fresh enough for the drive to visit the doctor.

This is the thourghts at 13 000 km not yet halfway across the African continent with 27thousand km total left; feverish, but true I imagine:

- Only two things I want; I want to hold my girlfriend who I met in the middle of the desert just beyond its horizon, in Khartoum. And I want to reach out where the Horizon becomeseternity.

I dont want to give up before I extend my leg into that place where no one else ventures - Records set and lost means little to me, and races won and those not yet won, disappears in the white clouds of life.

But the urge to not give in before I cross the horizon, to chase it in this moment of forever' wich is the world run and its 40 000km; that is my goal.

- We never know when we reach Forever, and all our goals are met. But I think life has that gratitude to us if we have gratitude towards it: that we suddenly reach our destination as when 4 years ago reaching Greenwich in world run 1 and not realizing it for months, if ever - Our biggest goals sometimes comes easier than we think :-)

.. and our smallest goals evades us endlessly. As this fever and days of stomack-decease I'm wanting to go away so I can continue..

(the next day I got to visit the doctor. "Aemoebic dierea", should be ready to run in 2-3 days. So that translates to tomorrow or the day after :-)

NB: In Ethiopia gprs-service (global phone roaming service) is not yet avaliable for datatransmission. Therefore the Live-gps data cant be transmittet to the website as usual. It may first be avaliable in Kenya. Untill then traditional documentation is used: photo, logbook, video, wittness etc. !
