- reached the 'corn and grain capital' of Sudan today. And besides Huge grainstorage silos wich reminds me of the similar tall grain-elevators in West Australia (world run 1), then the city of Ghadariff also had hotels. With Showers !!!

After days in 40 c, tenting during the humid nights and running through the days.. I think you can imagine the Luxury of a shower:-))

Actually the run went surprisingly easy today. I enjoyed the running and, allmost, fealt at home in the african heat !

- Afterall the Joy of Running is why I do these world runs :-)
Along w. running through and living in the many cultures of friendship that is spread around our globe - and are sodifferent from the gloomy image from the evening news.
In its strange reality our mutual world is a much more friendly place when you experiense its totallity and its small regional moments each step of the way :-)

Sudan is an example: the news and the statistics tell its one of the most dangerous andempouverished places to visit.. As you can see from the daily accounts from the run across the contry - its perhaps the most friendly population I have ever had the priveleague of meeting w. a sense of safety even in Khartoum during the ICC verdict that is better than in most big european cities I have run through (!).

The World is a much different thing than the news and the politics.. it is Us where ever we live :-)
