Coincidenses
Sudan seems to be a contry of coincidenses ! Atleast to me :-)
Yesterday, while I was preparing to start my run after 7days waiting & running in Khartoum and a 3.5 hour drive to where I had left, I met Anders from denmark. He had started out on bicycle 5months prior - from the village Farum; my birthtown in denmark !
He's on his way to Cape Town after originally 'just' wanting to bike to Rome, Italy, but had become inspired en route' and kept going ... What a great spirit :-)
He'd clearly been on the roads for a long time: the brown jacket dusty, the blue Scandinavian eyes red from sun & desert, the bicycle a bit worn and in need of a repair; but courious and w. an energy as if he had just started ! He'll make it to Cape Town, Im sure :-))
We kept company the 42km of my run and caught up on denmark and thourghts on life in general. Easing the focus from pushing the stroller tothe conditions at home !
Another example is my host in Khartoum :-) She has the same education, political scientist, w. international politics as interest - though she has made a career of it while I have taken the theories 'out for a run' :-)
During the days in Khartoum it later surfaced that she alsohas an athletics background w. youth running much like mine. But thats another story..
- The people you meet in/ near Khartoum.. :-)
