Start 09:18am. at yellow km-sign "EN 1 40", ca. 40km N. of Save river, on the EN1-hwy to Maputo. 19c, rain and l. wind. Finish 15:39pm. At green sign "Save Weightbridge, Bascula" at South end of Save river bridge, on the EN1-hwy to Maputo. 20c and same.

Crossing the Save river..
- The nonstop rain continues for the 3. day. At the last km we crossed one of the many rivers wich is caracteristic for green Mozambique !

Though, in the heavy rain it was hard to tell wether we were running over it or in it ;-)

.. Perhaps in it, would be better as the old, 700m long, concrete bridge had broad holes in the cement on the footpath on its side; w. nice views through them down to the river 20m below ;-)

After the stage we drowe 80km to find a hotel where we could dry shoes & clothes. Wet shoes 3 days in hot-humid weather gives a smell of impressive caliber.. ;-)


Nb: Its quite remote areas and the reports may be delayed a few days due to lack of gsm-coverage. Similar the L.P.-system sometimes shuts down and we cant restart it without gprs datasignal. Therefore there can be parts without pic/gps documentation (we use cam.pic., video, logbook & wittness as doc. of the run for those parts).
